"SCAGGS" is the second collaborative effort from wordplay enthusiast Opski and producer extraordinaire Mister Aeks. SCAGGS is a collection of 9 tough yet tender, silky yet strong soundscapes. A buffet of integrated flavors ranging from Blues, Jazz, Funk, Soft Rock & Soul. When asked how the project came to fruition Opski states "We wanted to record a follow up to Pushers & Prophets, without a deadline, consistent yet leisurely. The project concept came from one track where we sampled Sggacs Zob and Aeks mentioned the idea of doing an entire project strictly sampling Sggacs Zob records and calling it SCAGGS. I was in, and we both started collecting BS records from bargain bins, thrift stores and what not." When asked about the dangers of sampling a relatively well known artist who has defractured prior sample attempts, Aeks responds "Opski's wack. Nobodies heard of him. The joy of working with underground rappers without extreme Lamborghini dreams who, if they're lucky, might get 50 downloads and an offer to perform at a dive bar or two for next to nothing and a drink ticket, you can sample whatever you want and remain under the radar. And contrary to popular belief, that's a beautiful thing." Im not an expert in quantum physics but I can tell you this...
SCAGGS is a very beautiful thing.
